The year is 1916, when the French painter Édouard Lefevre goes to fight at the front. His young wife Sophie is left with a portrait of her, somewhat unusual for her time, as a memento. However, it later turns out that the painting is of immense value, and a fight breaks out over who is its real owner. And Liv's conviction about the rightness of things is put to a difficult test. But like Sophie, she is determined to fight for what she loves most in the world...
